"Rubanda Nyamwinshi" in my opinion!
Chris H. CYUSA
The word "Rubanda nyamwinshi" [the majority] has been used in Rwanda since long time ago as another kind of definition of a part of the population in ethnic sense! Those who used it had as the sole objective ;sowing hatred among Rwandans. However, I cannot deny that they reached their goal; the history of the country since 1959 until 1994 is witness to it! Even if as they say in kinyarwanda "Nta bapfira gushira" [People cannot die all]
After all that happened and the consequences we had to live together as a nation abandoned as dead by these extremists and "Rubanda nyamwinshi" propagandists. Rwandans dedicated themselves to the rebirth of they country, all as one people!
Seeing where we are today; here in my opinion is the true meaning of Rubanda nyamwinshi for the new generation of Rwanda; I thought our haters should know!
1. Rubanda nyamwinshi represent all of these Rwandans who risked their lives to fight the dictatorship that divided Rwandans since 1959.
2. Rubanda nyamwinshi are all Rwandans who have; after all the evils that have affected our country; decided to put their differences aside and work with courage in order to be able to rebuild their country; paralyzed and traumatized.
3. Rubanda nyamwinshi are more than 12 millions united Rwandans, both inside and outside the country, whose patriotism is a fundamental foundation, having vowed to love, develop and defend their dear "Motherland" under any condition!
4. Rubanda nyamwinshi are all of these young people who regardless of their background or the background of their parents, have their country at heart and can never miss the chance they had to grow up in a society without ethnicities, without ethnic propaganda as well on TV, radio or in newspapers! A country despite the long way still to go; but well organized in a pleasant way for youth to develop and deliver.
5. Rubanda nyamwinshi are all those Rwandans who know what they want for their country; who have understood that it is useless to copy Western practices and regulations for the countries which did not have the courage to save our nation when it was being slaughtered. The people whose "Ubudasa" [Uniqueness] makes proud and gives the courage to do more!
Dear compatriots, we are Rubanda Nyamwinshi united and having the land of a thousand hills; its values and virtues to the heart! We are a people, having one language, one culture as identity! Led by the leaders we have chosen ourselves and good friends we have all over the globe, there is no doubt that; The Rwanda's Metamorphosis is unstoppable!
